In-between the lines is an analysis of accessibility and transportation within the San Fernando Valley. With the upcoming Olympics in Los Angeles, I designed a living street protype, along with a network of Transit Oriented Developments (TODs) to serve the nearly half a million people living in the San Fernando Valley that rely on busses currently. With this design, I incorporated design elements such as widened streets, elevated metro lines and dedicated rapid bus lines that will not only help people with access to major events such as the Olympics, but with their day to day tasks such as grocery shopping or their work commute.
Out of the multiple locations I chose for the TODs to be implements, I expanded on the Ventura Station location- one that I believe to be pinnacle to the entrance and exit of the Valley itself. In a highly visible spot, with a considerable traffic burden, Ventura Station will serve thousands of both residential and commercial tenants.
